Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer at PDRTX Smart Auto Repair?
We provide:
- Hail damage repair / paintless dent repair (PDR)
- Paint Protection Film (PPF) installation
- Auto body / collision repair & refinishing
- Window tinting
- Ceramic coating & protective coatings
- Detailing, paint correction, and finish enhancement
- Insurance coordination, free estimates, and warranties
How do I schedule an appointment or get a quote?
You can:
- Fill out our “Schedule Service” form on our website
- Call us directly at (469) 903-4669
- Visit our shop during business hours for a complimentary inspection. We’ll evaluate your vehicle, discuss options, and provide a written quote.
Do you work directly with insurance companies?
Yes. For covered claims (e.g. hail, collision), we assist you through the insurance process: submitting estimates, working with adjusters, and ensuring quality repairs. In many hail cases, if your policy allows, repairs may be done with little to no out-of-pocket cost (depending on deductible).
What warranties do you offer?
We back our work with a warranty tailored to the service:
- For PDR / hail repairs: typically limited lifetime or guarantee that dents will not recur
- For PPF: manufacturer-backed warranties (often 7–10 years, covering yellowing, peeling, cracking)
- For ceramic coatings: warranties range based on coating level (2, 5, or 10 years)
- For body / collision work: standard industry warranties on workmanship and materials (paint adhesion, corrosion, etc.)
What is the timeframe for completing repairs?
It depends on the scope and service type and if the insurance is involved, after their approval process which usually takes 3-7 days. Here are some guidelines:
| Service | Typical Duration |
|
Hail / PDR (minor to moderate) |
Several hours to 1–2 days |
| PPF |
3 to 7 days (depending on coverage and complexity) |
|
Ceramic coating |
1 to 2 days or more, depending on paint prep |
|
Auto body / collision |
Several days to weeks (depending on damage extent, parts, paint curing) |
|
Window tint |
A few hours to half-day |
We’ll always give you a projected timeline when providing your estimate.
Can I leave my vehicle overnight or will you provide a loaner?
Yes — vehicles often stay in our shop overnight during multi-day services. We may provide courtesy transportation options (e.g. loaner car or shuttle), depending on availability, service and insurance coverage.
What should I do (or avoid) while waiting for the repair / treatment?
- Avoid washing or waxing the vehicle if a coating, PPF, or paint repair is planned
- Keep the vehicle in a covered area (shade, garage) if possible
- Avoid driving over debris or gravel where possible
- Let us know of any preexisting damage, previous repairs, or aftermarket modifications
How do I care for my vehicle after a service?
Each service has some specific aftercare (detailed below), but general best practices include:
- Use pH-neutral car wash soap
- Avoid automated brush car washes (they can scratch coatings or film)
- Use clean microfiber towels
- Schedule regular inspections or maintenance (e.g. reapplication sprays, detailings)
- Report any issues early — under warranty, we’ll address them
Does a PPF, ceramic coating, or tint interfere with one another?
They can work in conjunction if done properly, as long as the right order of installation and prep is followed: e.g. film first, then ceramic coating over it (for added gloss and hydrophobic properties) We’ll plan accordingly so your protections complement rather than conflict.
